Tree Safety Surveys

Tree Safety Surveys ensure that the proprietor(s) of a property are meeting their legal requirements for a duty of care towards visitors/occupants. We provide detailed Tree Safety Surveys to remove the safety risks and the burden of responsibility of a given tree population away from the owner and to our consultancy.

Whether it is one tree or a large forested area of trees, our consultants are registered users of the Lantra Visual Tree Assessment method (VTA), enabling us to apply accepted and established risk management principles to tree safety assessment.

The VTA method is applied at ground level or if deemed necessary through an aerial inspection utilising qualified climbers and/or unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). If any structural or physiological defects are present in the trees, and any fungal or insect pathogens are identified they are mapped and recorded. The potential risk of harm posed by a tree is then assessed, and a decision is made as to whether any further works are necessary.

Following the inspection, a tree safety report is produced within which any recommendations relating to safety are presented. The Green Consultant can then liaise with approved contractors at the clients’ request, to ensure that works are carried out correctly and to current industry standards (BS3998).
